FAQ's

How much does a commercial EV charging station cost UK?

The cost of a commercial electric vehicle charging point usually ranges from £1,000 to £1,500 depending on the model, connections required and how many you are getting installed. Prices may vary if you are bulk buying for a large fleet.

Do employers have to provide electric charging points?

There is no legal requirement for a non-residential building to have a charging point as of just yet, however, the government is considering making it a law to for businesses with over 20 car spaces to have at least one EV charger. Just because it is not law doesn’t mean your business should not be considering this for employee and customer convenience.

Do you need planning permission for a charging point?

Typically, you will not need permissions to install an electric vehicle charger. In those cases where planning permission could be needed your supplier or installer should go over that with you.

Can I install my own charging point?

No, you cannot install a charging point yourself this must be done by a trained electrician or installer. Doing this yourself could lead to damage to the equipment and possible injuries to your self or others. This could also result in fines if you injured an employee or customer.
